Birthday Freebies

The Best Things In Life ARE Free!

So recently I celebrated a birthday; not a milestone nothing earth-shattering just a regular Good Lord am I really that old? – but even more pressing – do I look that old?? kind of birthday.

Growing up in my house birthdays were a huge deal. They were the mother-of-all bucket list days that lasted well into the dates that followed making it a gloriously full week of festivity.

Now that I’ve “grown up” I have refined a love of planning.

Amongst my networks I am the one looking ahead to the next party and forecasting accordingly. I have been branded the Event Planner of my peers. I’m cool with that; in fact I take great pride in this role.

I’ll find a reason to celebrate just about anything. After all, “We’re Here For a Good Time Not A Long Time
Being the planner amongst your peer group or family often means you end up planning your own birthday (the stakes are high)! In a previous year I arranged a matrimonial murder mystery in my home transforming my main floor into the mafia-inspired wedding reception where I played the bride (the birthday girl always gets the tiara in my world).

This is what happens when my birthday falls on a weekend….

It’s my party and I’ll die if I want to….

As important as it is for me to plan a time to celebrate; the real reason I do it is because I am a shameless socialite. I love being amongst friends, cheering on another collection of memories which will carry me through my elderly years –  when I will be forced to settle down (yikes)!

So here’s where it gets good. How does one celebrate another year of health and happiness without breaking the bank, riding a bull or planning a murder (not that there’s anything wrong with that)?

Fear not, I’m living proof that you too can extend your date of birth into a few days of self-appreciation, guilt-free!

This year to kick off my freebie festivities I started the day with my free Venti Unsweetened Green Tea Latte at Starbucks (yes, I said large). All you have to do is take your Starbucks card (free at the store) register it online, fill in your birth date and show up thirsty! The rest of my week included free appetizers at Casey’s Bar and Grill, a free regular size Booster Juice, free Timothy’s coffee, free ice cream at Baskin Robbins, free dessert at Milestones Restaurant and a free blizzard at Dairy Queen. I also received a free gift from Sephora and Old Navy!

I’m not done yet!

Some of the offers I registered for allow until the end of your birthday month to cash it in. A birthday month, now that’s celebrating!

I couldn’t in good conscience keep this under my (birthday) hat. It’s better to give than to receive, right? So I’m about to blow your mind.

Whether your birthday is next week or six months from now I’ve got your back.

There’s nothing more fulfilling then walking around with a full belly and a full wallet (I’ll try not to strain my arm patting myself on the back).

As a parting gift I will leave with the following links that will direct you to a plethora of good old-fashioned free fun. You’re welcome and happy birthday!
